Gennie

I met up with Gennie twice during my 9 days stay in Taiwan. Had trouble meeting her up for dinner during our first meeting, cos... i was lost in taipei city. haha
Alright, my chinese isn't fantastic (getting worse in fact), so when she told me to go to 府州 (fu zhou) station, i took a cab and i ended up at 复兴(fu xing) station. I almost didn't want to meet her up, cos i was too tired and hungry by then, but then i went ahead. hahaha...
went to a pasta restaurant. The portion of food was huge, and I realised, taiwanese restaurants like to have set meals for their customers. So you'll have salad, soup, main, desert and of course a free drink. And it all costs less than 15 sing. Ah... what a good deal! and of course... their food isn't too bad. Will intro the food next round, let me blog about my meet up with Gennie.
Talked for a while with Gennie and her friends, met up with Tricia too (she's a eng-chi translator) so her eng is superb!!
On the train, Gennie asked, " Mei, how long have we known each other?"
I thought for a while... then she said, " don't you think it's about 7 years now?"
I counted, and yes... we've known each other for 7 years already. It's something not easy, because, she's based in Taiwan and i'm in Singapore. It's msn and emails and phone calls once in a while.
she's a fantastic lady, someone who's got her own set of thoughts about many things. Voices out when things don't go the right way. Stubborn in certain ways.
But i like her for who she is. :)
and she told me she'll be marrying next year, and will relocate to Gaoxiong, and i was like..
"why Gaoxiong? then when i'm in taipei, i can't meet up with you. and gaoxiong has got
nothing..." *shows a displeased look*
“haha.. then i'll come down to taipei, then you can meet me up." *face brightens up*
we've made a pact, she said she'll bring me to some islands off Taiwan when i visit next year.
And Tricia was the witness to the whole pact. hahaha
就一言为定咯!明年见!
oh i told her to have her wedding to be held on a Saturday, so i can fly over to attend. She said, for me, she'll do that. hahaha *beaming*
ah... i love this woman. =D

taiwan part 2

I have no idea how many parts there gonna be. Cos.. i was away for 9 days. It might be many parts. hahaha you have no idea how many GB worth of photos i've got... -_-

My 2nd time to Taiwan, and first time to the renowned Ding Tai Fung along 永康街 (yong kang street). Taxi drivers normally will know where it is located. From what i know, there isn't any train station nearby, therefore, it's better you take a cab down.
Many of the customers are Japanese, so the waitresses/ waiters know how to speak Japanese. And the service is pretty swift and good. Food wise, i'm satisfied. Esp the dumplings. Yummy!!!

Us at 永康公园,i have no idea what we were doing there. hahaha
Next up, I'm going to introduce you a shop located at 永康街 too. It sells french pastries. I tired some, and it was aweseome.....

sidetrack a little, come visit my boutique when you're in taipei, it's along 永康街 as well. :)

okay, why i like the black piece so much, it's called 可丽露 by the way. It's hard on the outside, but real soft inside. I'm not sure if it's sugar coated on the outside (prob not), but when you bite it, it tasted real different because it's hard and soft at the same time. And the inside tasted like some banana kueh we have in Singapore. Try it!

when the 7 of us went into the shop, within just a few mins, the shop was packed with people. Crowds attract crowds ya? If you noticed, the whole shop is white, but yet, i thought it was really tastefully done. That really drew us in and ended up buying lotsa pastries. -_- But, no regrets, it's delicious. Price wise, not that cheap. But how often do you really get nice looking, fanastically delicious french pastries?
If you're interested to visit the shop:

okay, i'm tired already. Night people. =D

just let me....

playing: some song from boys over flowers OST

swoon over this show for this time round.

In case you haven't heard of this show (where in the world have you been?), it's the f4 show, korean version, aka Boys over Flowers.

Miss X was the first to tell me about this show, i think earlier this year. Caught some episodes online then stopped and now i'm done watching it. and im watching it again.

I thought how the koreans do their show, works very well with people like me. I'll tell my friends... i wanna go Korea or Macau (cos in the show, they shot Macau beautifully. heh). hahaha. see, korean dramas are very successful in promoting their tourism.

Just like the picture below. It's a ice skating rink in Grand Hyatt, Seoul. Where the leads skated during their date. oh... so romantic. hahaha. beautiful isn't it? Just for that, i'll go korea man. hahaa
I think the Korea tourism board pushes their tourism through dramas, the taiwanese does that too (i think). Korea tourism website AH.. just take a look at the site itself.

Back to the show, i haven't watched the japanese version, and I don't intend to. If you ask me, the taiwan version and the korea version, which would be the better one? Hmm.. i'll choose the Korean version.

At least Lee Min Ho is a better actor than Jerry Yan.

Photobucket

see... so good looking right? hahaha. awww.. i like his smiles. (okay, i should stop going gaga now) but he's really quite good looking mah... lol

night people! :)
